Victor Hanson-Smith

Research Interests:
I develop new algorithms and software to study the evolution of genome architectures in Eukaryote species (i.e., animals, plants, and fungus). I use a wide range of computational approaches, including phylogenetics, high-throughput sequencing, data mining, and molecular dynamics. Additionally, I am a full-stack Django web developer on Amazon Web Services, with 15 years experience engineering in C/C++, Python, and Java. Depending on the day and the project, I am a scientist, software engineer, bioinformatician, and teacher.
